This repair panel from VEWIB is the ideal solution for a professional and authentic restoration of your VW T2 “Late Bay”. While many aftermarket parts are often just simple sections, this product is the complete wheel arch for the rear left side.
Product Details:
- Part Number: 221 801 561 J (comparable to the VW Original Part Number)
- Installation Location: Rear left (driver side for LHD models)
- Version: Complete unit including inner structures and connection points to the floor pan
- Material: High-quality, deep-drawn steel in OEM thickness
VEWIB Quality Features:
- Precise Fit: Manufactured based on original specifications, eliminating time-consuming adjustments often necessary with cheaper reproduction panels.
- Weldability: The panel is typically supplied with a weld-through primer (silver), which improves corrosion protection directly in the weld spots.
- Authentic Details: All beads, edges, and mounting points correspond exactly to the original part of the late T2 models.
Benefits for Your Restoration:
Using this complete wheel arch saves you valuable time during welding and restores the structural integrity of your Bulli. Especially with advanced rust damage at the seams connecting the floor pan or side wall, this VEWIB part offers the safest and cleanest solution.
Tip: During installation, be sure to check the adjacent areas (such as the floor pan or the rear side wall) for corrosion, as the wheel arch is a central connecting element of the rear body structure.
