In the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, it was normal for the car to be equipped with small
triangular windows that could be opened in hot weather without disturbing the occupants.
Just open a window and the passengers will react immediately: "Too much draft, please close this window...".
This is not the case with a vent window, it works even without annoying noise. Hot air is drawn in from the
car, which has a cooling effect.
Over the years, the rubbers around the frame become hard and brittle, so there are very few Volkswagens where t
he rubber is still in new condition.
