On later models, the wipers are operated by the right-hand steering wheel handle; previously they were operated by a separate button on the dashboard.
There are two versions available, the first series of steering wheel switches were only equipped with a pneumatic windscreen washer, this was later changed so that in addition to the windscreen washer, there is also a pneumatic washer.this was later changed so that in addition to the pneumatic washer, an electric version could also be connected.
The decision to integrate both systems in the switch was planned, because at the time of marketing no air-cooled model was equipped with an electric windscreen washer. The Volkswagen Golf was already equipped with one, which is why it was integrated, after which only the Volkswagen Beetle got it very late. If you decide to replace your air washer with a power washer, it is advisable to choose this switch, regardless of the year of manufacture of the car.
Note: With an air washer, the top hose goes to the nozzle and the other to the tank.
