This oil pump retractor removes the oil pump from the crankcase without damaging it.
When the oil pump cover and the toothed gears are removed, the T-shaped part of the oil pump trigger is pushed into the oil channels, after which the pump is effortless pulled out of the crankcase.

When replacing the standard oil pump, it is necessary to replace both seals. These are included in an engine gasket kit. But in case you need to replace the oil pump separately, these seals are also available as a 2-piece kit.
For type 4 engines, only the seal between the cover and the oil pump can be used. Between the crankcase and the oil pump, an O-ring seal is used that is not included in this kit.
If you have a Melling oil pump, an oil pump with filter or a "Filter flow" oil pump, the seal between the cover and the pump is available separately. In this case, you need kit 01998 whose only seal you use is the one between the crankcase and the oil pump, as well as the seal between the oil pump and the cover.
